How a booking works

Three steps from first call to crew on site. No portal, no waiting for a sales team.

  1. Send us the job

Call 1300 011 203, use the quote form above, or scope the job in three steps on the traffic control page: location, works, hours, duration and layout. Tell us the start date and whether it is day or night.

  2. Your Area Manager confirms crew and plan

The local Area Manager checks the site, confirms crew numbers and vehicles, and tells you whether the job needs a Traffic Management Plan, a Traffic Guidance Scheme or an existing scheme. Our in-house designers prepare what is needed and we lodge road authority permits where required.

  3. Crew on site, early, with pre-start and dockets

The crew arrives ahead of your start time, walks the site against the plan, runs the pre-start, stages the setup from advance signs to the control point, and signs off a docket each shift. The TMI on site monitors and adjusts through the day.

Find your nearest depot and Area Manager

13 depots from Cairns to Young. Each one is run by a local Area Manager with a mobile you can call, crews who know the roads, and a yard of signage, VMS trailers and utes ready to go. If your site is between depots, the closest one mobilises. Tap a marker for the name, number and address.

Why project managers book ECTC

  • A local Area Manager you can ring

Every depot has a named Area Manager with a mobile number on this site. You deal with the person who allocates the crew, not a call centre. They know the local TMR district, the council and the roads.

  • 24/7, and we mean the phone is answered

Night works, weekend closures, storm response and a crew that did not show from someone else. The operations line runs around the clock and crews are mobilised from the nearest of 13 depots.

  • Plans and crews from the same company

Our in-house Traffic Management Designers prepare the TMP and TGS, our TMIs set it out and our controllers run it. The plan lodged with TMR, TfNSW or council is the plan the crew implements. No gap between the document and the day.

  • Compliant in both states

Queensland work follows TMR's MUTCD Part 3 and the Queensland Guide to Temporary Traffic Management. NSW work follows Transport for NSW requirements. Our crews hold the accreditation for the state they work in; we never send a QLD-only ticket to a NSW job.

  • Our own fleet and gear

Cone deployment trucks, utes with arrow boards, VMS trailers, portable traffic signals, lighting for night works and TMA-accredited drivers for high-speed corridors. Checked at the depot before it leaves the yard.

  • 30 years, ISO certified, ASX-listed parent

Established 1993, head office on the Sunshine Coast, ISO quality, safety and environment certified, and part of TIP Group (ASX listed). Approved supplier to LGP, LGCA and Local Buy, so councils can engage us through those arrangements.

Work we have done, with the client named

A 36-hour Bruce Highway closure in Rockhampton for Queensland Rail with 22 controllers and 18 utes. The Smithfield Bypass and Cairns Western Arterial duplication for TMR contractors. Flooded roads across the South West Slopes of NSW. Real jobs, real road authorities, and the depot that ran each one.

What clients say when the job is done

Councils, rail operators, pavement contractors and crane companies, named, with their role. We do not edit them.

Century Cranes have used Bruce and the team at East Coast Traffic for many years we rely on them for everything traffic control, from the Traffic Management Plan to the crew being there at all hours of the day and night. These guys have NEVER let us down.

Bianca WilsonGeneral Manager, Century Cranes

I have engaged East Coast Traffic Control over the past 5 years with great results, their team are professional in the task performed. This can be seen by their on-time performance and zero incidents within this time. The team also complete my traffic management plans that suit the requirements by local laws.

Steven MallyonTrack Maintenance Supervisor, Aurizon

East Coast Traffic Control have been very supportive to Durkin on this project and we appreciate your assistance on working through this and helping us deliver a project to our client outside of NSW. You have been very responsive to emails and calls. The site crews have been very active following our crew around, being flexible and ensuring the setups are done correctly as per what we have required on site. Well done.

Questions we hear before every job

Do you cover my site?

If it is in Queensland or New South Wales, almost certainly. We run 13 depots from Cairns down the Queensland coast to the Gold Coast, then Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Young, Wagga Wagga and Tumbarumba in NSW, and crews travel between them. Enter your site suburb in the quote form and the nearest Area Manager replies.

Are you compliant with TMR and Transport for NSW?

Yes. Queensland plans and setups follow the TMR Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 and the Queensland Guide to Temporary Traffic Management. NSW work follows Transport for NSW's Traffic Control at Work Sites framework. Our controllers hold the accreditation for the state they work in, and our in-house designers prepare TMPs and TGSs for both.

How quickly can you get a crew to site?

It depends on the location, the date and whether a plan or permit is needed first. We operate 24/7 and mobilise from the nearest depot, so short notice jobs are normal for us. Call 1300 011 203 with the site and start time and the Area Manager will tell you what is possible.

Do you do the traffic management plan as well as supply the crew?

Yes. Traffic Management Designers on staff prepare the Traffic Management Plan and Traffic Guidance Schemes, and we lodge the permit with TMR, the council or the police where the job needs one. You can also book planning only, or crews to implement a plan you already hold.

What does traffic control cost?

Price depends on crew size, hours, day or night, vehicles and equipment, and whether a plan or permit is needed. We quote each job on those details rather than a rate card, which is why the quote form asks for location, works, hours and layout. Send it through and you get a priced scope back, not a sales call.

Need crews on a date? Tell us the site.

Send the location, the works and the hours. Your local Area Manager confirms crew, plan and permits. Or call 1300 011 203 any time, day or night.
